Who doesn’t like barbecue chicken wings? It doesn’t matter if it’s game night or movie night or any night, barbecue wings are great finger food for any occasion. They make the perfect appetizer along with Buffalo Chicken Dip, and children love them as much as adults.
Oven-Baked BBQ Chicken Wings
They are a delicious alternative to buffalo wings and by far, milder in taste.
All you have to do is add spices like chili powder, paprika, onion powder, and garlic powder to flour, coat the wings, bake them, mix them with honey barbecue sauce, and bake them again for a few minutes.
Making barbecue chicken wings in the oven is fast and simple and they come out sticky and delicious.
If you’re looking for chicken dinner recipes, cilantro lime chicken, baked teriyaki chicken thighs, brown sugar garlic chicken, or baked bone-in chicken breast are great options!
HOW TO MAKE HONEY BBQ SAUCE?
It is so easy to make, all you have to do is mix your favorite bbq sauce with honey or maple syrup.
Maple syrup gives it a different kind of sweetness, but it’s great too if that’s all you have in the pantry or want to make them a bit different.
HOW TO MAKE BBQ WINGS?
- Preheat the oven to 425F. In a small bowl, combine flour with chili powder, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder
- Coat the wings with the flour mixture and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake them for 40 mins, turning them once.
- In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce and honey until well combined.
- Coat the cooked chicken wings with the honey barbecue sauce, place them onto a baking sheet covered with clean parchment paper, and bake for 8-10 minutes until caramelized.
WHAT GOES WITH BBQ CHICKEN WINGS?
Barbecue wings are the perfect party food. So you can serve them with other party foods like nachos, chili, or pizza.
Serve with blue cheese dip or ranch dressing. In my house, we eat them anytime and I like to serve them with french fries and a side salad: Olive pasta salad, Caesar salad, or tossed salad!

Has anyone made these a day or two ahead of time and reheated in a crockpot or toaster?
100krecipes
You can definitely make them ahead of time and reheat them either in a crockpot or toaster oven.

Do I need the parchment paper ?

You don’t need to use it. It’s just easier for cleaning purposes.

Simply delicious!! The only thing I would ask, would spraying the parchment paper with cooking spray help? Some of them stuck to the parchment paper. Will definitely cook again!!!
100krecipes

Thank you for this great recipe! I was pleasantly surprised at how good my wings came out thanks to your recipe! That flour coating really is what makes it so good before the sauce coating. I’m currently making it a second time because it was so good the first time! 🙂 Thank you for this!

Try it on rotisserie chicken yummy!
Lisa
Do you have to coat with flour ? If so why?
100krecipes
This step is important if you want to make breaded-like wings, but if you are on a wheat free diet, you can avoid it.
Sue
