I know love cannot be bought, but you can cook these marry my chicken for the one you love. You may be surprised, but this ‘marry me’ chicken can be prepared in half an hour.
MARRY ME CHICKEN
For me, the main ingredient that gives an amazing and unique taste to these chicken breasts is sun-dried tomatoes. Firstly, they are very tasty, and secondly, they are very beautiful.
But their main advantage is their piquancy and oiliness. Chopped sun-dried tomatoes taste really good with heavy cream and chicken broth.
Oh yes, they make chicken breasts so juicy. I think I’ll cook more than one dish with this sauce. I really like it.
When I first cooked ‘marry me’ chicken for my close friends, they thought I spent a lot of time in the kitchen preparing this dish. It doesn’t taste like a homemade dish cooked in half an hour.
These chicken breasts are so extraordinary and tasty like the chef’s dish. Marry Me Chicken is exactly the dish that should be prepared for a romantic evening with wine and candles.
Follow the recipe below, and make sure to read through the frequently asked questions and pro tips to bake the Best chicken recipe.
HOW TO MAKE MARRY ME CHICKEN?
- First, heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on each side. Transfer them to a skillet. Sear for 5 minutes on each side until golden.
- Transfer the chicken breasts to a plate when golden on each side. Don’t turn off the heat.
- Add minced garlic to a skillet. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add thyme, red pepper flakes, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. The sauce should become thicker.
- Add chopped sun-dried tomatoes and grated parmesan cheese, stir. Turn off the heat.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH CHICKEN?
I like to serve this chicken with rigatoni pasta, mexican Rice, or mexican Potatoes, and vegetables with crispy bread. Honestly, it seems to me that this is exactly the dish that can be served with anything.
- You don’t need to cook the chicken breasts completely in a skillet, just sear it on each side until golden. We will bake the chicken breasts in the oven with the sauce until cooked.
- Add your favorite herbs if you don’t like basil or thyme.

I made this tonight. Just for me. I had 2 chicken breasts already cut into chunks so I used those. I added more broth, which was low sodium because it seemed to be getting too thick. I only had Half and half and that is what I used. I did everything else exactly as written and it was really tasty. It was easy, I had all the ingredients and tasted great! Win – win.
Made this tonight and it was delicious. Sautéed onions in the pan before adding garlic, doubled the liquid and because of a dairy allergy substituted the cream with oat milk and the Parmesan cheese with Earth Islands Parmesan alternative. I then used a cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce. The family loved it. We will definitely make again.

I’m so happy you liked it, Darla!! 😀 Appreciate your review! 😀
Love this recipe! Had to make a few substitutions:
Made it with bone in chicken breasts (so took a little longer in the oven.)
Didn’t have sun dried tomatoes so substituted with Rotel tomatoes
Didn’t have cream so substituted with coconut milk.
It was fabulous!!

Sooooo yummy!!! I decided to add some white cooking wine to deglaze my pan. The whole family loved it and my kids aren’t really crazy about chicken so yay!!

That’s so nice to hear haha! I love that. 😀 Thanks for your review!
A great recipe! Only thing I would change is I would remove the oil from the tomatoes before using. I used fresh basil and it bc was wonderful; I served it over brown rice with a side of broccoli and carrots. A very colorful meal and so yummy!

I made this tonight with a few variations. I add thinly sliced onion, used heavy cream and slap yo mama seasoning.

Made this for my husband last night with fresh corn on the cobb and baked potatoes. He really liked it. I will definitely make again. Easy but special!
The chicken was tasty and tender. The sauce was wonderful!
Delicious, easy and a crowd pleaser. Definitely a make again!
It was yummo
Really flavorful chicken. My husband really loved it and so did I.
Simple and easy! Thank you for sharing this recipe! 😋
This chicken dish was amazing! Absolutely delicious! I did add a little onion along with the garlic. I used skinless, boneless breasts. They were so juicy. The only mistake I made was to use sun dried tomatoes jarred in oil. The next time I make this I will buy the dried ones that’s aren’t in oil. It did make the sauce a little oily so I skimmed some off the top.
I doubled the sauce because I made it with brown rice and it’s so yummy pouring some of that sauce on. I also used half and half and the sauce still thickened up nicely. Thanks for such a great recipe.
Thanks for the suggestions. So glad you were able to customize it to your liking!
Ok, so I do. It have heavy cream but I have Natural Bliss sweet cream which has heavy cream in it. Will that be good enough?
Cannot wait to try this.
Best chicken and fast.
This recipe is amazing! Hubby approved for sure. Making it again tonight for the 3rd time. We eat chicken a lot so having this twist to preparing it is awesome!

Great recipe, very easy to modify w on hand ingredients. I added a chopped red bell pepper and mushrooms. I used Half n half and added a pat of butter. I keep cooked spaghetti squash in small batches in the freezer. Added those in as a ‘pasta’ and my hubs said yes after 32 years he’d still *marry me* so thanks for the yummm.
How wonderful, Cassi! So glad you decided to give it a try!
Delicious, I served this with Spaghetti squash I will definitely be making it again 😊
How wonderful, Terry! So glad you decided to give it a try!
Ahhhhmazing! Yum. Had to turn oven up to 425 to cook. 15 minutes at 375 didn’t bring it to temp. Served with broccoli and cheddar and crescent rolls. Will definitely make again!

3rd time I’ve made this!! So delicious !!
I used chicken thighs this time. Put it under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the chicken skin.

So glad you loved it! Thanks so much for the 5 star rating!
Can you transfer it to a glass 9×13 dish and bake it like that? I have a large family and would have to double the recipe. This recipe looks & sounds delicious!
Not sure if this helps but I had some family over so I had to double the recipe. I used two separate cast iron skillets and I placed both in the oven. I separated the two racks in the oven just enough so that I could slide in one skillet and then the other on the top rack. It turned out awesome.
This was amazing !! I added spinach. I served it with herbed rice! This will definitely be a meal I prepare often!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the suggestions. So glad you decided to try it again and customize it to your liking. 🙂
We added spinach and garlic. I’d do mushrooms too if I had them on hand. Poured sauce over both chicken and angel hair pasta. Yummm!
Amazing! I really enjoyed this recipe and so did my family. The only thing I changed was chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts. So so good!
Oh my goodness you are so kind. So glad you were able to customize it to your liking!

Good go to recipe!
This is delicious! I over salted the sauce…argh. We still ate every bite.
I had some fresh spinach i chopped up and added at the end. So good and pretty to look at.
So glad you were able to customize it to your liking! Thanks so much for the 5 star rating!
Excellent! I added an extra 1/4!c each of the heavy whipping cream and the chicken broth. I also seasoned the chicken with a mixture of equal parts garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, pepper and twice the salt to the other spices. We served over angel hair pasta with shaved Parmesan and julienned basil. Everyone loved it. Thanks for recipe!
Yay! I’m glad you love it so much, Shelley. Thanks for the 5 stars.
