This easy apple cobbler is a perfect combination of sweet caramel sauce, tart apple slices, and a flavorful, crispy topping. I associate apple cobblers with fall and Thanksgiving day.
CARAMEL APPLE PECAN COBBLER
My whole family likes this easy apple cobbler because it tastes so wonderful. You can prepare it for the holidays using simple ingredients too. I recommend serving this easy apple cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a caramel sauce.

How to make Caramel Apple Pecan Cobbler?
- Step 1. Prepare the apple filling. In a large bowl, stir together 9 sliced apples, ⅓ cup brown sugar, ⅓ cup granulated sugar, 2 tsp cornstarch, 2 tsp lemon juice, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, and ¼ tsp ground nutmeg until combined. Then, stir in 1 cup chopped pecans. Set aside.
- Step 2. Prepare the caramel sauce. Melt ¾ cup butter in a saucepan. Then, add 1 cup of light brown sugar and ¼ cup milk. Stir until combined and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 12 minutes stirring constantly. Then, remove from the heat and stir in vanilla extract. Let it cool for 10 minutes.
- Step 3. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Pour the caramel sauce over the apple filling. Mix until combined. Transfer the caramel apple filling to a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 4. Prepare the crumbly topping. In another mixing bowl, mix together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, ⅔ cup brown sugar, ⅔ cup granulated sugar, 3 tsp baking powder, and 1 tsp salt. Add 1 cup butter and mix using a pastry blender. The mixture should be crumbly. Then, add ⅔ cup of boiling water. Mix until combined. Transfer this crumbly topping to the baking dish. Spread it evenly over the caramel apple filling.
- Step 5. Prepare the additional cinnamon topping. In a bowl, mix together 3 tbsp granulated sugar and 1 tsp ground cinnamon. Then, sprinkle over the crumbly topping. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
Can you freeze apple cobbler?
Yes, you can freeze leftover apple cobbler, but I don’t like it because the crumbly topping becomes a little soggy after freezing. You can store easy apple cobbler in the freezer for up to 3 months.
