This strawberry bread recipe is so easy to make, and super soft and moist. It is made with fresh, juicy strawberries and topped with a sweet strawberry glaze.

Strawberry Bread Recipe

All you need are a few simple ingredients and a loaf pan to make it. While it is baking, your entire house will smell like delicious sweet strawberries!

After making this strawberry bread recipe in the oven, it will disappear fast. Since it contains fresh strawberries, be sure to refrigerate any leftovers (if there are any!).

HOW DO YOU MAKE STRAWBERRY BREAD FROM SCRATCH?

Follow the simple recipe below to make this delicious fruit Bread from scratch

  • Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF. Add the sugar, milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl and stir well.

  • Step 2. In a separate mixing bowl, add the flour and baking powder, and salt.
  • Step 3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients together.

  • Step 4. In another bowl, combine the strawberries and 2 tbsp flour.

  • Step 5. Gently add the strawberries to the batter and transfer to a 9×5-inch loaf pan.

  • Step 6. Bake in the oven for 50 minutes, then remove and cool for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire cooling rack. In the meantime, combine the powdered sugar, extract, and strawberries in a small bowl to make the glaze. Add cream or milk one tablespoon at a time until you reach a good consistency.
  • Step 7. When the bread is completely cooled, drizzle the glaze on top.

WHAT MAKES STRAWBERRY BREAD MOIST AND FLUFFY?

The fresh strawberries are juicy and make this strawberry bread nice and moist. The egg adds fluffiness and a soft crumb texture to this delicious loaf.

CAN YOU FREEZE HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY BREAD?

You can freeze homemade strawberry bread by allowing it to completely cool to room temperature, then wrapping with aluminum foil and storing in a freezer bag until ready to eat.

You can also slice it first before freezing individual slices! When you are ready to serve, allow the bread to defrost in the refrigerator overnight, or place in the oven to rebake for 20 minutes at 350ºF.

Recipe tips;

  • Make sure to coat the chopped strawberries with flour before adding them to the batter so they do not sink to the bottom. Wait until the bread is completely cool, or place in the refrigerator, so the glaze does not melt off of the loaf and “sticks.”

Ingredients

Strawberry Bread

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups diced strawberries
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Glaze

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1/3 cup finely diced strawberries
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or almond extract
  • 1-2 tbsp heavy cream or milk (optional)

  • In a separate mixing bowl, add the flour and baking powder, and salt.
  • Combine the wet and dry ingredients together.
