I absolutely adore these cauliflower patties with egg, shredded cheddar cheese, panko breadcrumbs, and seasonings. It is crispy on the outside, while soft and moist inside. Сheesy cauliflower patties taste amazing with sour cream, Greek yogurt, or homemade mayonnaise.
If you are on a diet, you can easily make this recipe lower in carbs – just don’t use the panko breadcrumbs.
Flavorful and delicious cheesy cauliflower patties are a good choice, not only for your breakfast but also as an excellent side dish for your dinner.
HOW TO MAKE CHEESY CAULIFLOWER?
This recipe is pretty quick and easy. You will need just a few ingredients for making these cauliflower patties with egg, cheddar cheese, eggs, panko breadcrumbs, and seasonings.
- Place cauliflower florets in a food processor and pulse until it resembles small crumbs.
- Transfer cauliflower crumbs to a bowl. Microwave for 3 minutes or until slightly softened. Then, let cool to room temperature. When cauliflower rice has cooled, squeeze out the excess liquid using a kitchen towel.
- Transfer cauliflower rice to a large bowl and add 2 large eggs, ½ cup white cheddar cheese, ½ cup panko bread crumbs, ¼ tsp onion powder, ¼ tsp garlic powder, ¼ tsp cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Mix until completely combined.
- If the mixture doesn’t stick together, you can add one more egg to the cauliflower mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Then, add a ⅓-¼ cup of the cheesy cauliflower mixture and form a patty using a spatula. Cook for 2-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining cauliflower mixture and add more oil if needed. Enjoy sour cream, green onions, or chopped parsley.
FREEZE CHEESY CAULIFLOWER?
You can freeze leftover cheesy cauliflower patties. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper in a single layer.
Freeze. Then, transfer to a freezer-safe airtight container or a plastic bag. Store leftover patties in the freezer for 2-3 months.
RECIPE TIPS:
- You can also bake these cheesy cauliflower patties instead of frying. Preheat the oven to 400F. Prepare the cauliflower mixture according to the instruction below. Form patties and place them on the baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- If you don’t have a food processor, you can grate cauliflower florets using a box grater.
- You can also use butter for frying.
- Reheat these cauliflower patties with egg, cheddar cheese, and panko breadcrumbs in the oven or in the microwave.
- You can add some chopped onion or minced garlic instead of onion and garlic powders or just skip these ingredients.
