Not Yo Mama’s Banana Pudding

We have put an indulging spin on the traditional banana pudding recipe. This treat is so yummy, you won’t be able to stop eating it! Plus, it is quick and easy to create! Not to mention, if you bring this to a party, you won’t be bringing any back home.

We love creating this recipe at the beginning of the week and having it as dessert after our dinners. Even though it has lots of dairies, it is still a light dish. The whipped topping allows this treatment to have a fluffy and light texture!

We know you will enjoy this one!

You’ll need:

Preparation Steps:

  • In a 13×9 pan line vanilla wafers cookies along the bottom. You will need a pan that is about 2in deep

  • Pour all sliced bananas on cookies. I love using up to 8 bananas because they taste so yummy in this recipe!

  • In a medium-sized bowl mix together milk and pudding mix. I opted for almond milk since there is already a lot of dairy in this recipe.

  • In another large-sized bowl, mix together condensed milk and cream cheese. Make sure it is mixed until it has a smooth consistency.

  • In the cream cheese mixture, slowly fold in whipped topping. This will create a fluffy and delicious mixture!
  • Next, you will pour your pudding mixture into your fluffy cream cheese mixture. You will need to mix thoroughly. Make sure that all contents from the bottom get mixed with it!

  • Layer over your cookie and banana mixture.

  • Layer the rest of your vanilla wafers on top!
  • Enjoy right away, or put in the fridge until you are ready to eat

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 bags Vanilla Wafers
  • 6 to 8 bananas, sliced
  • 2 cups milk or almond milk
  • 1 (5 oz.) box French Vanilla pudding (regular vanilla works too)
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese
  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweeten condensed milk
  • 1 (12 oz.) container frozen whipped topping thawed

Instructions

  • In a 13x9 pan line vanilla wafers cookies along the bottom.
Make sure that all contents from the bottom get mixed it!
  • Layer over your cookie and banana mixture.
  • Layer the rest of your vanilla wafers on top!
  • Enjoy right away, or put in the fridge until you are ready to eat

Notes

  • We used vanilla wafers in this recipe, but you can really use any vanilla shortbread type cookies. We also love bananas, so we opted to use around 8. The bananas give it a lot of flavor and make it feel somewhat healthy 😊
  • Folding: If you are unfamiliar with this technique, no worries! All folding means is, mixing to batches together slowly as if you are folding them into one another. It is a technique that will keep your mixture light and fluffy!

I use Nutter Butter cookies, instead of vanilla wafers.
