DO I COOK THE CHICKEN BEFORE ADDING IT TO THE SLIDERS?
That’s the beauty of this recipe, we use frozen precooked breaded chicken tenders. But you do have to prepare them according to package instructions, to thaw them out and heat them thoroughly before making your sliders, or they will be cold once you get them out of the oven.
HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN PARMESAN SLIDERS?
- Preheat the oven to 375. Pan fry or bake the chicken tenders according to package instructions. When done, cut the sweet rolls horizontally without separating them, and put them in a greased casserole dish. Layer them with cheese and bake until melted
- Spoon marinara sauce over the cheese.
- Now add a layer of chicken tenders.
- Spoon marinara over the chicken tenders.
- Add another layer of cheese.
- Put the top of the rolls back on.
- Melt the butter and mix in the garlic powder and chili flakes. Brush the top of the rolls with this mixture, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Top with chopped basil before serving.
CAN I MAKE CHICKEN PARMESAN SLIDERS AHEAD OF TIME?
Sure, you can even freeze them. Assemble the sliders like you were going to bake them, but don’t add the garlic butter or the Parmesan on top.
When you are ready to serve, take them out of the freezer the night before to thaw them in the fridge, and take them out of the fridge 30 mins before baking them. Once they are completely thawed, add the garlic butter and Parmesan cheese and bake.
If you refrigerate them, do not keep them for more than three days, take them out of the fridge 30 mins before baking, add the butter and Parmesan cheese on top, and bake. They must be room temperature before baking for the chicken to heat through.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH CHICKEN SLIDERS?
You can serve a side salad, steamed veggies, or carrot and celery sticks with ranch dressing. All you need to add to this meal is some greens and veggies, cooked or served your favorite way, and you’re done.
