For those days, I have exactly what you need with this simple tuna salad recipe. I’ve used cottage cheese to cut back on the calories instead of using lots of mayo. Packed with flavor, this tuna salad sandwich recipe has capers, dill, onion, mustard, lemon juice, celery for crunch, and the creaminess of cottage cheese.

All you need to do is toast your favorite bread, and you have yourself the makings of a tasty, fast, easy, and low-calorie meal.

CAN YOU FREEZE TUNA SALAD SANDWICHES?

I wouldn’t recommend freezing tuna salad sandwiches. The recipe is so easy to make, it just takes 5 minutes, that I recommend you make it on the same day you plan to serve it.

Sometimes when you freeze sandwiches, they become very soggy when thawed.

HOW LONG DO TUNA AND COTTAGE CHEESE SANDWICHES LAST?

This simple tuna salad recipe lasts 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator. I wouldn’t recommend making the sandwiches in advance, as they might get soggy.

If you need to make the salad in advance, you can do so and keep it refrigerated, but toast your bread and make your sandwich immediately before serving.

WHAT GOES WITH TUNA SALAD SANDWICHES?

I think the whole idea of making this easy tuna salad sandwich recipe, is to make a fast and easy meal without having to cook anything else.

Serve this with your favorite chips. I love to serve it with baked sweet potato chips to keep the meal light and low in calories.

HOW MANY CALORIES IN A TUNA SALAD SANDWICH?

This complete tuna salad recipe has approximately 490 calories, so if you are making two sandwiches, each one should have 245 calories and you should add the calories for the bread slices you’re using.

Hi! You can use white bread, whole wheat or any bread of your choice. I believe I used potato bread.
