Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Cream butter and sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes). If using powdered sugar instead, cream together with the butter the same way
Beat in the egg, ground almonds, and almond extract and mix until smooth
Working slowly, add in the flour and mix until fully combined
Scoop dough onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and top each dough ball with 2 slivered almonds
Bake in preheated oven for 7-8 minutes until very lightly browned
