Buffalo Chicken Calzone

This buffalo chicken calzone is really easy to make, takes no time at all and the smell of freshly baked bread had everyone running into the kitchen to get a look at what was cooking!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb skinless boneless chicken breasts, halved
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • ¼ cup Buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable or olive oil, separated
  • 2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • preheat oven to 410F
  • Cook chicken breasts in water in a medium-sized saucepan for 15 minutes or until done. Remove from heat, drain and shred with two forks
  • In a medium-sized skillet, melt butter and add shredded chicken. Cook for a couple of minutes and add Buffalo wing sauce. Cook a couple more minutes until heated through.
  • On a well-floured surface, roll pizza dough into a 12 inch round. Brush dough with one tablespoon of oil.
  • Spread 1 cup mozzarella cheese on one half of the round.
  • Place chicken on top of the cheese.
  • Top chicken with the other cup of mozzarella cheese and fold the dough to cover the chicken and the cheese. Brush top of the dough with one tablespoon of oil.
  • Cut a few slits on the dough to let steam out so the cheese doesn’t burst through the dough while baking.
  • Bake uncovered for 20 minutes or until brown.
