GRANDMOTHER FAVORITE PEACH COBBLER

Peach cobbler is a universal dessert that can be prepared at any time of the year. Canned or fresh peaches - it’s not so important! The love with which you cook -that is important.

Ingredients

  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 can (30 ounces) sliced peaches in syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a baking dish.
  • In a deep bowl, combine flour, a cup of sugar, and baking powder. Add milk and peach syrup, mix.
  • Put peaches in melted butter, pour in liquid batter. Mix half a cup of sugar with cinnamon and nutmeg and sprinkle on top of the peaches.
  • Bake at 350 F for 45-60minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use halves of peaches, cut into slices or cubes as desired.

  • Different brands of canned peaches may contain different amounts of syrup. If your dough is too thin, add a few extra tablespoons of flour or corn starch.
